ABOUT ME

I was born in 1972. I began my yoga studies in the SiddhaYoga tradition in 1997. For eight years, I focused primarily on meditation, yoga philosophy from the perspective of Kashmiri Shaivism, and the practice of Namasankeerthanam (repetition of sacred chants). Additionally, I had the opportunity to explore, as part of a musical ensemble, the traditional meaning of Bhajan and Kirtan, both in Mexico, India and the United States.From 2005 to 2017, I studied for 12 continuous years at the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute (AYRI), and later at the Krishna Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI). In 2010, I received official authorization (blessing) at Level 2 to teach the practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.Since 2010, I have shared this practice in more than fifteen countries, including permanent Mysore programs in Vienna, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Mexico. Additionally, I have taught programs and workshops in Austria, Germany, Slovakia, France, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Costa Rica, Chile, Peru, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Nepal, and the Philippines.Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with various physical therapists around the world. This experience has significantly contributed to my perspective in guiding practitioners of the Ashtanga Yoga method in the most cautious way possible.

MYSORE 2008 / SECOND SERIES LED CLASS

Authorization

The traditional ritual or protocol to receive the blessing or authorization to teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and other traditional linage systems used to be understood on deeper level. Receiving this blessing from a traditional guide carries profound spiritual significance.It is perceived as a long-term relationship between Acharya and Shisha (teacher and student), embodying a sacred transmission of wisdom, responsibility, and energy. It signifies a sacred trust, humility, discretion and the transfer of divine energy to take care of the sacred teachings and a commitment to a higher purpose. This sacred relationship is encapsulated in the term “parampara.”When I recieved the blessing the protocol was to wait after 4 year to be eligible for the authorization(blessing), after 5 years I received it. I kept going to study for 12 years almost in a row.Things have changed. Social media and easy access to information have dissolved the intimacy of the teachings. This shift has sparked considerable debate. Nevertheless, with great respect and love, this is my authorization in 2010

About the
ashtanga yoga
tradition

ASHTANGA VINYASA YOGAYoga is a philosophy of life that cultivates a healthy body, clear mind, and awakened spirit.Practiced in its proper sequence, Ashtanga Yoga guides us to rediscover our fullest potential—physical, psychological, and spiritual—through steady breath (ujjayi pranayama), posture (asana), and gaze (drishti). With regular and devoted practice, body and mind become stable and strong.The term Ashtanga means “eight limbs,” described by Patanjali as: Yama(restraints), Niyama(observances), Asana(posture), Pranayama(breath), Pratyahara(sense withdrawal), Dharana(concentration), Dhyana(meditation), and Samadhi(absorption). The limbs support one another—external discipline prepares the ground for inner stillness.Vinyasa means breath-synchronized movement. Each movement follows the breath, generating internal heat through mula and uddiyana bandhas. This purifying fire strengthens the body, cleanses organs, and refines focus.There are three main sequences:
Primary Series(Yoga Chikitsa):
detoxifies and aligns the body.
Intermediate Series(Nadi Shodhana):
purifies the nervous system.
Advanced Series(Sthira Bhaga):
integrates strength and grace.
Each posture prepares for the next, and each series must be fully developed before progressing.Breath is the essence of the practice. When breath and movement unite, the practice becomes steady and meditative. Inhaling is divine inspiration; exhaling, surrender.True progress arises only through consistent effort. It is said that where there is no effort there is no benefit. Strength, stamina, and sweat refine both body and mind, revealing clarity and devotion until as our teacher use to say ‘Wherever you look you will see God’.
